The dark sleepless nights, filled will terror & battle,
Have left this tired warrior injured and tattered.
Seasons have passed since this bloody fight started.
Not a moment let up. No, rest has since parted.

A new day is dawning. Perhaps hope’s been won!
Ahead the sun rises revealing victory shall come.
But a quick sharp pain come from behind and within
Followed by darkness and the night yet again.

Season have passed since this bloody fight started.
Not a moment let up. No, rest has since parted.
Death is the goal from the enemy pursuing.
No mercy; no life; only death is it brewing.

“Curse this damned carcass,” the warrior cries out!
“How I long to be rid of this pain heavy burden.
My peace, joy, and rest it takes every moment;
This fight is much greater than any man can bare!”

Then a sudden new strength filled the tired wounded warrior,
with the memory of the King’s love that he wore.
“I no longer walk in defeat as I have in past.
The king is my strength; my peace joy and rest!”

“I was pulled out from death and set before the throne.
I was naked and ashamed before the King’s presence alone
Rather than punishment be given, though I deserved it
He stripped his son’s robe and hung it on my shoulders!”

“Ive been clothed with his beauty and his perfection
Invited to the throne room and called the King’s son!
I am co-heir to the prince and I have the King’s ear.
I’ve been pulled from the fight and a winner declared!”

“So when the night’s seem long filled with terror and battle,
I have not been left injured and tattered.
That season has passed! That fight has been won!
Not a moment I’ll look back for my rest has come!”

“Instead everyday I’ll keep my eyes open
for the tired wounded warriors already broken.

The King’s house is ready. The door have been opened.
Come all who are weary; great rest you’ll be given!”

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
